| Aiish... I have advertised my car for sale for quite some time now...had a few offers..but don't know whether to sell or not... the only thing that made me sell it was because I was scared that I would have to keep spending lots of money in fixing it..but then I still love the car so much! Lol! I'm so contradictive aren't I?!!
I have been told that the crankshaft is "worn..." (same as wear and tear?) but this doesn't really explain anything to me. Except that I know to replace crankshaft it could cost from $3000 and better off to replace the engine.. Does anyone know whether it is ok for a 1997 Honda Prelude to have a "worn" crankshaft..or anyone out there that also owns a Honda Prelude, have the same problem?.....
Would like to hear some opinions and advice out there! Thanks!! ^_^

| Crankshaft worn happens to everycar, hard driving will obviously speed up the process then other cars.
About selling your car, if u have a car in mind already, then go for it, it might be a good time to let it go and drive a new car.
personal opinion only...haha!

| If it's going to be that expensive to fix you may be better off buying a new car. It all depends on how much you love it. Chances are if you end up buying a new ride you are going to love it just as much as your current car, so if you won't miss it too much then just go for it! I recommend the new Lancer! | |

| I haven't encountered that problem yet, but if my car had that problem, i wouldn't really bother spending 3k to fix it, it'll be a reason for me to upgrade to the next level. :p Speaking of problems, my car suffered a hard thump when i drioe into a road work area, and now the steering is pulling itself to the left. Does any one know a good place that does suspensions/wheel alignments? Hope its nothing serious. | |

| hahaha wow thanks for all the recommendations guys! A car i wanted all along, even before I got my prelude was honda integra...spot on Harvey! originally wanted the DC5R, but don't mind the type S now, as we can't get DC5R brand new anymore..although wondering if type S can be imported brand new... need to save up though !
I know both a good and cheap priced place that does change tyres, wheel alignment and sells alloys too in North Parramatta. It's called Just Tyres, 580 Church St and the phone is: 9630 8888 and ask for the owner called Mark. They have done the best wheel alignment and tyre change for my car only recently...changed to Good Year eagle tyres...feels so goodd~! They also have such a big variety of tyres...Michellins..Pirellis (the italian made ones), Kumho, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Yokohamas, Falkens and more... (omg..feels like i am fully marketing them...no i didn't receive commission..)

| Type S is a sick ride, used to have one until the engine exploded It' not common for that to happen and it was covered by warranty, would have been expensive if it wasn't! First thing you'd want would be to fix the suspension and get some decent tyres on it | |

| I called up RTA and they referred me to a person that takes care of these incidents. Will need to take photos of the pothole/roadwork and a quote from the wheel place. One of them is really serious the guys from 2 shops showed me, one my be repairable, but i'd rather new ones. | |
