| Just wondering where I can get helmet/track gear from at reasonable prices.
Tim recommended the motorbike store in Auburn to buy a helmet. Will this be sufficient for track? | |

| MCAS. That's the store in Auburn. Anything with the AS sticker will suffice. | |

| i bought mine for $120...you dunt need expensive helmet for track as you're basically covered by metal, just a normal Australian Standard helmet will do the job more then enough..=D | |

| Unless you're racing you don't need an expensive helmet. Just get one that's comfortable to wear, and new. I'd never buy a used helmet unless it was a good mate's - you have no idea what's happened to it in the past. If you're in a place that requires a helmet, you're in a place that you could break your skull in. Motorcycle Supermarket is not bad. It's where I got Carmen's RJAYS helmet. They've got plain matte black ones there for $100 or so. At our level of motorsport (CAMS L2S and random track days) any road legal motorbike helmet will suffice. The only time you need a very expensive helmet is if you race for position, where the regulations require further the helmet pass CAMS/FIA certification. | |
